UBAC® arrives in South Africa to take control against Strep. uberis

Boví

In May, HIPRA Southern Africa attended the RuVASA congress with a stand dedicated entirely to udder health, which served as a presentation event for UBAC® to the hundreds of veterinarians and experts who were present, before the official launch week for the vaccine on the South African market.

RuVASA brought together the most important professionals in the sector in Muldersdrift, Gauteng. Over the 3 days of the congress, not only was there a review of the main diseases in the country’s herds, but also of the principal problems affecting experts and producers, such as antimicrobial resistance and the lack of recent graduates wishing to join the rural veterinary profession.

After the congress, which served as a prelaunch event for UBAC®, the entire HIPRA Southern Africa team embarked on a presentation roadshow for the vaccine in the main dairy farming areas of the country. The events, which were organized down to the last detail by the local team, were attended by producers, veterinarians and consultants who participated actively and showed great interest.

Charl De Jager, Key Account Manager at HIPRA Southern Africa, presented HIPRA as the only company in the country to take an integrated approach to mastitis in dairy cattle, offering technical solutions and tools for prevention, together with our biologicals covering the principal causative agents of the disease. Dr. Marga Penelas spoke about the 4 fundamental pillars in the control of mastitis and Dr. Donavin Reynolds closed the events with a public presentation of UBAC®, detailing its principal Benefits to the customer.

All those present showed their great enthusiasm for the idea of having new tools for the control of this pathogen, and understood that with the launch of UBAC® and the consolidation of STARTVAC®, HIPRA reaffirms its commitment to the control and prevention of mastitis in dairy cows.
