HIPRA India organizes an HIPRA University course on Salmonella, focused on food safety

HIPRA India organized an HIPRA University course on Salmonella on July 8th and 9th in collaboration with Nagpur Veterinary College. The event took place in Nagpur and was attended by around 50 veterinarians from across India who gathered to learn the latest updates on Salmonella control, its importance in food safety, and how it can be managed using innovative and high-tech vaccines as AVISAN® SECURE.

Dr. Nitin Kurkure, a professor from the Department of Pathology, Nagpur Veterinary College, introduced the biological properties, etiology, prevalence, and pathology of Salmonella Gallinarum, Enteritidis, and Typhimurium, using local data from India. Dr. Myeong Seob Kim, Regional Technical & Marketing Specialist, HIPRA, shared his expertise on controlling and monitoring Salmonella from a 360º perspective. 

Dr. Santiago De Castro, Global Product manager & Business Support in Asia, explained the crucial role of inactivated vaccines in preventing Salmonella for food safety and improved performance. Dr. Deepak Koli, Technical Services, HIPRA, delivered a practical lecture on the stages before, during, and after the application of an inactivated vaccine.

The event also featured a practical necropsy session, conducted by local professors of Avian Pathology, where the attendees could observe the clinical and subclinical lesions produced by Salmonella Gallinarum. 

Before closing the event, a Kahoot game was organized, with several prizes that kept the participants engaged and enthusiastic, followed by the distribution of certificates of participation to all the attendees.
