The data shown in this study indicates that as environmental pathogens are becoming more prevalent on farms in UK and Ireland, this will pose a higher risk for Strep. uberis to become a serious threat to the farms. Therefore, awareness of Strep. uberis should be increased on farms. This study also reflects that UDDERCHECK is a good diagnostic tool to identify pathogenic bacteria present in milk samples.

UDDERCHECK is a reliable diagnostic tool that uses a new methodology to collect milk samples and detect the major mastitis causative agents. UDDERCHECK can be used to complement Somatic Cell Count (SCC) and Bacterial culture to monitor mastitis at a herd level. Milk samples from United Kingdom and Ireland have been analysed from 2012 until 2016. The aim of this study is to show the results obtained from 488 samples analysed.
