This study evaluated probabilities of detecting key digestive bacterial pathogens overgrowth (high load) in Rotavirus infected piglets.

RVC was found in lots of neonatal diarrhoeas cases. It is frequently associated with bacteria such as E. coli, C. difficile or C. perfringens but also RVA coinfecting with RVC in 33% litters. These results emphasise how likely these pathogens are to synergise and reach high loads once the environment in the intestine gets altered by a pathological process.
