HIPRA Portugal was one of the main sponsors of the event, showcasing its innovative range of vaccines, DIVENCE®, designed to optimize vaccination programs against the major viral diseases in cattle.

The HVME Congress is renowned for its high scientific standards, and HIPRA took the opportunity to once again demonstrate its leadership in the field of research and veterinary technology. In this edition, the company actively participated in the official program, with the presence of distinguished speakers, such as Vincent Robles (owner of L'Aubrauc), Santiago Casademunt (Regional Technical and Marketing Manager at HIPRA), and João Bento (Technical Services HIPRA Portugal).

Vincent Robles, with dual presentations for both veterinarians and farmers, addressed the future challenges in beef cattle herds, highlighting the impact of reproductive and respiratory challenges in productivity and economic sustainability. In his opinion, the management of these infectious challenges is based on the collection and analysis of data to support decision-making, biosecurity, diagnosis to detect and monitor diseases and the implementation of vaccination protocols.

On Saturday, at the Vet Conference, Santiago Casademunt gave a lecture on innovation in the control of BVD and IBR, presenting a detailed view of the features of DIVENCE® and the benefits of this new vaccine, the first multivalent vaccine for the major respiratory and reproductive viruses in cattle, marker for BVDV-1, BVDV-2 and IBR. He stressed that to control and monitor these two diseases, it is essential to use vaccines, such as DIVENCE®, that do not interfere with commonly used diagnostic tests and that are effective in controlling viral circulation and reducing the prevalence of BVD and IBR in bovine herds.

Next, closing HIPRA's interventions, João Bento presented "Inside DIVENCE®: What's New?", delving into some of the most significant trials conducted with the vaccine, demonstrating that it offers the highest standards in safety and efficacy against the most relevant viruses, both in the respiratory and reproductive fields of cattle, noting that for BVD, it has been shown to confer cross-protection against different strains of BVDV-1 and BVDV-1 and a high level of foetal protection in the order of 94%. In conclusion, João said that DIVENCE® is a solution that will simplify the implementation of vaccination protocols in cattle because it offers reproductive and respiratory protection in a single vaccine, it can be used in calves and cows, it has an annual vaccination protocol, it confers fetal protection of 94% and it is triple marked. To sum up, DIVENCE® is the EXTRA that will transform the CONVENTIONAL into the EXTRAORDINARY.
