New HIPRA UNIVERSITY training courses “Together against PRRS” in the Philippines and Holland

Last May, HIPRA organized new HIPRA UNIVERSITY training courses entitled “Together against PRRS” in the Philippines and Holland respectively.

In the Philippines, Joel Miranda (Product Manager of UNISTRAIN® PRRS vaccine) opened the session by explaining the tools and services that HIPRA provides in the control of PRRS and presented the new Hipradermic® 2.0 device for the intradermal administration of UNISTRAIN® PRRS.

Antonio Ubiergo (AVP Planasdemunt & Associats) then spoke about “PRRS from a field perspective” and afterwards about “Adaptation of gilts”. Alex Wu (Regional Technical Marketing Manager) then illustrated the heterologous protection conferred by UNISTRAIN® PRRS with a study carried out in Korea. The session concluded with a round table discussion moderated by Joseph Emil Rubico (Technical & Marketing Manager Philippines) in which the 3 speakers answered questions put by the audience, dealing with topics of major interest for the control of the disease.

In Holland, Enric Marco (Marco Vet Group) opened the session with a talk about “Strategies for the control of PRRS”. The next speaker, Ander Flemming (Danish Swine Vet) shared the Danish experience in the control of PRRS and the particular characteristics of its system. The session continued with a round table discussion in which Herman Prust (Technical and Marketing Manager Holland) acted as moderator. The two speakers were joined by David Llopart (Regional Technical and Marketing Manager EU) to try and clarify the key questions in the control of the disease.

The session ended with a presentation by Herman Prüst on the new Hipradermic® 2.0 device for the intradermal administration of UNISTRAIN® PRRS. After a year on the market, HIPRA has now brought out a second version of the device with improvements in terms of safety, ergonomics and correct dose administration. With these courses, HIPRA UNIVERSITY “Together against PRRS”, HIPRA continues its commitment, together with experts and producers, to the fight against PRRS at global level.
