HIPRA Canada shows its support for the sheep and goat sector with a whole week full of activities

Sheep and goats

Once again, HIPRA reaffirms its commitment to the health of sheep and goats, securing the future of the industry.

Dan Shock (Business Unit Manager, HIPRA Canada), Shannon Walsh (Technical Services for Eastern Canada), and Jezzid Ospina (Technical Services Specialist for Quebec), in collaboration with Tania Perálvarez from HQ, organized a week full of impactful activities aimed at strengthening connections with veterinarians and producers in Ontario and Quebec.

Throughout the week, several meetings were held with key veterinary clinics, providing the opportunity to show the impact of prevalent diseases and offer innovative solutions. For instance, our “Action plan against abortions” was presented, a holistic approach to prevent and control infectious abortions on the herds. Many of these veterinarians are highly regarded by producers in Canada and meeting them has opened doors for future collaborations.

The team also visited several promising farms, offering tailored recommendations to enhance productivity, with a focus on preventing mastitis and abortions.

A standout event of the week was an on-site session focused on INMEVA®, our vaccine for abortion prevention. This session provided participants with the opportunity to engage in technical discussions and exchange best practices, creating a collaborative environment focused on improving both the health and profitability of sheep and goat farming.

Additionally, HIPRA participated in the AMVPQ congress, a significant gathering for large-animal veterinarians. This event enabled us to engage with even more professionals dedicated to small ruminant health.

These experiences deepened our insight into Canada’s small ruminant market, paving the way for future collaborations and uncovering opportunities for growth. We have reinforced our role as a trusted partner and highlighted our commitment to improving the health of small ruminants.
