From November 20th to the 23rd, HIPRA Türkiye participated as a platinum sponsor in the 6th National and 3rd International Health and Management Sheep and Goat Congress, held in North Cyprus at the Kaya Artemis Resort Hotel.

The congress brought together over 400 veterinarians from Cyprus and Türkiye, fostering a dynamic environment for scientific exchange and collaboration. Within this setting, HIPRA’s booth became an active meeting point of the congress, thanks to its “Meet the Expert” sessions, which offered attendees the opportunity to engage directly with leading specialists and explore key topics related to sheep and goat health and management.

As part of the congress program, HIPRA Türkiye organized a symposium titled “The Nightmare of Sheep and Goat Farmers: Abortions Caused by Chlamydia abortus and Salmonella Abortusovis” led by Dr. Pablo Núñez, Global Franchise Manager at HIPRA.

The session focused on the control and prevention of enzootic abortion in sheep, beginning with an overview of the disease and highlighting its key epidemiological and pathogenic aspects. Followed by a practical discussion on the control and prevention measures that need to be implemented at farm level, emphasizing the importance of combining these measures with vaccination as a key tool for managing abortions caused by Chlamydia abortus.

The congress coincided with a significant milestone for HIPRA Türkiye as the subsidiary celebrated its 20th anniversary. The occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of the sheep and goat health sector and highlight HIPRA’s ongoing role in advancing the prevention and control of diseases affecting small ruminants, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner for veterinarians and farmers.
