HIPRA HELLAS organized the 2nd HIPRA UNIVERSITY to celebrate 10 years of VIMCO in the market

Sheep and goats

HIPRA HELLAS organized 3 HIPRA University courses on June 11, 12, and 13 in Arta, Patra, and Agrinio, focusing on milk quality in sheep and goats. Under the title "10 years growing together in the prevention and control of mastitis in small ruminants", the sessions brought together more than 25 sheep and goat veterinarians in both theoretical and practical (on-farm) formats.

The events began with a theoretical part where Pablo Núñez (Global Franchise Manager of the small ruminant unit) and Grigorios Stavianis (Ruminants, Technical and Marketing Manager) reviewed the tools HIPRA provides to veterinarians and the benefits observed over the years.

Following this, Demetrio Herrera (Veterinary Milk Quality and Udder Health Consultant) highlighted the impact of milking machines and routines on udder health and provided instructions on evaluating different parameters and ensuring the correct operation of the machine, along with sharing relevant tips on milk quality in sheep and goats.

During the practical on-farm session, the operation of the milking machine and the milking routine of each farm were thoroughly analysed, with the participation of each attendee.

Attendees particularly appreciated the combination of theoretical sessions with on-farm visits and explanations in a real setting, as it allowed them to experience firsthand what they had learned on paper and then apply it in their daily work.

The 1st edition of this course was held from April 2nd to 4th in the regions of Larissa, Volos, Trikalla, and Kozani. More than 20 participants attended the theoretical and practical sessions organized by the company, which also included talks by Demetrio Herrera, Grigorios Stavianis, and Pablo Núñez.

With this initiative, HIPRA Hellas demonstrates its commitment to the prevention of mastitis and milk quality, showing that it works alongside veterinarians and farmers to continue growing and evolving towards a better future for the small ruminant dairy sector.
