HIPRA has expanded its SMART VACCINATION range to include the new vaccines: EVANT® vaccine against avian coccidiosis in broilers which incorporates the adjuvant HIPRAMUNE®T, and GUMBOHATCH®, the first immune complex vaccine from HIPRA for the prevention of Gumboro disease.

Both vaccines are covered by the term “intelligent vaccines” as they have RFID technology incorporated in them. During the first part of the event, HIPRA focused attention on Eimeria resistance and the need to reduce the use of coccidiostats in poultry farming.

An innovative approach to coccidiosis control was presented, based on broiler immunization with the unique EVANT® vaccine against clinical and subclinical forms of the disease.

HIPRA also presented the development of its coarse spray application equipment, Hipraspray®, and the adaptation of the system to broiler hatcheries.

The second part of the presentation started with a discussion of the role of Gumboro disease in modern poultry farming, focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of different control strategies.

This led on to the launch of the high tech immune complex vaccine GUMBOHATCH® for the prevention of infectious bursal disease.

The participants reviewed the specifics of the development and quality control of the product and its innovative formula with unique IBD antibodies extracted from eggs. The results of GUMBOHATCH® application were also shown, which indicated a rapid induction of humoral response and a reduction of acute lesions in the bursa.

At the end of the event, new equipment for GUMBOHATCH® vaccination was demonstrated: Hipraject®, for the subcutaneous injection of chicks.

All the veterinarians had a chance to look inside the injector and to try it out, vaccinating 1-day old chickens with the immune complex.

The SMART VACCINATION range has been expanded to include Hipralink® Vaccination 2.0, completely revamped software that incorporates new functionalities, both for the hatchery and for the recipient of vaccinated chicks, and that includes application of the vaccines in the hatchery in a single vaccination certificate.

All of which guarantees the success of vaccination and affirms HIPRA as the reference in prevention for poultry health.
